A virus has taken hold of the Thorpe Park ride graveyard. The infected turn into the undead – can you make your way through unscathed?<\/strong><\/p>\n For the first time since the very first Fright Nights event, Thorpe Park experimented with an outdoor attraction, which they marketed as a scare zone, which they also referred to as a “Terror Zone”. This was unlike the commonly accepted term for a ‘scare zone’, as it was a one-way route, and guests were batched in in groups. As such, it was much more like a very small outdoor maze.<\/p>\n The attraction was set up along a pathway adjacent to Zodiac, sandwiched by some fencing which created a picnic area. In later years, this fence would be torn down to create a more open area, which (as of 2026) holds the fake grass area and Stitches during Fright Nights.<\/p>\n The attraction had lots of fencing with black tarp draped over them to create a cattle pen-like layout. Throughout the layout, old Thorpe Park props were scattered around, including Thorpe Park Rangers and signs from the old Thorpe Farm. There was good lighting effects and lots of smoke machines dotted around, as well as some actors.\u00a0<\/p>\n To those who did not know the story, it would seem very strange and perhaps a bit disjointed. To those who did, it was a fun throwback to see these old bits of theming. The zone was very short, and ended up being run like a mini outdoor maze.\u00a0<\/p>\n It what would have otherwise been a quiet year for Fright Nights (there were no new attractions otherwise, aside from Saw Alive, which was open all year round at that point), it filled a gap.
