Screamplexx Cinema was presented by Bloody Cuts, a group who create an anthology of short horror films which are available online for free.
Thorpe Park partnered with Bloody Cuts to showcase four of the films they had produced – Don’t Move, Death Scenes, Don’t go down to Wildor and Dare – in the Angry Birds Cinema. These films lasted no more than 10 minutes. Each showing would differ with which film they would show, and sometimes they would show more than one film in a showing.
Screamplexx Cinema was advertised as being in 4D. Unfortunately, the park and Bloody Cuts never got the opportunity to covert the films to 3D, and most of the time the park didn’t use any 4D effects for the films.
For the 2020 season, the park introduced a couple of actors for the showings. This included the park’s infamous Director character, as well as some “film crew”. They would roam around outside the cinema, drumming up interest for the showings, and also spend some time before the film creating extra anticipation. This was by far the best year of the Screamplexx Cinema.
